Job Title: Travel Nurse - Level 1 Pediatrics

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team as a Travel Nurse - Level 1 Pediatrics. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, providing high-quality patient care and making a meaningful difference in the lives of our patients.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting intake assessments, planning and providing nursing care, making nursing diagnoses, and recommending treatment options. They will also consult with psychiatrists and other behavioral health staff to design appropriate treatment plans for clients. Additionally, they will administer and note reactions to psychotropic drugs and other medications, arrange further medical attention when necessary, and assist clients in understanding the nature of emotional disturbances and accepting the need for treatment.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct intake assessments through interviews with patients and relatives to gather case history.
  • Plan and provide nursing care for patients.
  • Makes nursing diagnosis of the medical and emotional status of patients and recommends treatment options.
  • Consults with psychiatrists and other behavioral health staff in designing appropriate treatment plans for clients.
  • Administers and notes reactions to psychotropic drugs and other medications.
  • Arranges further medical attention when necessary.
  • Assists the client in understanding the nature of emotional disturbances and accepting the need for treatment.
  • Assists in maintaining a safe and secure environment for staff and patients.
  • Test for vital signs of pain and ensures treatments of pain.
  • Documents all patient information on medical charts and follows physician's written orders.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality.
  • Maintains accurate records and documentation of patient treatments, immunizations, and laboratory results according to standard medical recordkeeping.
  • Performs administrative assignments such as filing, answering phones, typing, and completing progress notes in the computer system.
Requirements:
  • Possesses critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Possesses effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Possesses effective interpersonal relationship skills.
  • Ability to utilize computers for documentation purposes.
  • Technically competent in tasks within the scope of practice of a Registered Nurse.
  • Ability to read and comprehend English at a level necessary to follow written and oral instructions and safety precautions.
  • Work Experience: Minimum of two years.
  • License/Registration/Certification: Active uncumbered state license or compact license (if applicable), CPR (by the American Heart Association), BLS, ACLS - American Heart Association.
  • Education and Training: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing or Employee Degree in Nursing. BSN preferred.
