Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Production Assistant to join our team at BlueScope Recycling. As a Production Assistant, you will play a critical role in supporting our manufacturing operations by loading and unloading material from machines, conveyors, and mobile equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Loading and Unloading: Assist in loading and unloading material from machines, conveyors, and mobile equipment to ensure efficient production processes.
  • Material Handling: Supply or hold materials or tools as needed to support production activities.
  • Product Preparation: Place material in equipment or on work surfaces for further processing, inspecting, or wrapping.
  • Quality Control: Inspect products for quality and accuracy before packaging or shipping.
  • Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and organized work environment to ensure a safe and efficient production process.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: 1+ year of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Skills: Good communication and interpersonal skills, problem-solving skills, reading and writing skills, basic math skills, and ability to work independently.
Working Conditions

The Production Assistant will work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with regular exposure to machinery and equipment. The ability to work in a team environment and follow instructions is essential.
