Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients to identify their needs, skills, and interests.
  • Plan, organize, and implement activity programs that cater to patients' diverse needs and interests.
  • Facilitate and lead activity sessions to enhance patients' mental and physical well-being.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans that incorporate activity interventions tailored to patients' needs and interests.
  • Engage patients in therapeutic activities, such as exercise, games, and community outings, to promote social skills and independence.
  • Modify activities to suit the needs of specific patient groups.
  • Demonstrate a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude towards patients, ensuring their safety and well-being.
Requirements
  • Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) or equivalent certification in the area of specialty.
  • Clinical professional licensure (LCPC, LPC, etc.) with certification in expressive therapy area preferred.
  • CPR and de-escalation and restraint certification required.
  • First aid certification may be required based on state or facility requirements.
