Responsibilities:- Maintain technical knowledge of 13.2kV, 4.16kV and 480V switchgear, protective relay application and testing, 480V motor control centers and motors, 120VAC uninterruptible power systems.
- Develop, design and document applications of instrumentation and control systems to integrate with the existing PLC and distributed control systems.
- Evaluate the existing instrumentation and utilizing engineering design practices.
- Recommend, source, and ensure proper installation of new instruments in a manner that will provide accurate, reliable process control.
- Provide hands-on assistance to Electrical and Instrumentation Technicians with troubleshooting instrumentation problems including system calibration.
- Assist in developing capital project programs for new equipment and major repairs.
- Provide support for our Alarm Management and SIS initiatives. Participate in PHA's and LOPAs.
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related engineering field.
- 7 years professional work experience.
- 3 years or more of work experience in Electrical & Instrumentation design.
- Proficient with AutoCAD.
- Understanding of OSHA, NFPA, NEC, engineering standards.
- Working knowledge of controls systems (Rockwell, etc.).
- Working knowledge of controls protocols (Ethernet, Modbus, Profibus, etc.).
- Working knowledge of the different elements of an electrical cabinet.
- Understanding of motor controls and VFDs.
- Understand how to size components (fuses, disconnects, power supplies, arc flash, etc.).
- Understanding of how to perform an electrical/controls safety review.
