Job Title: Clinical Application Specialist - Oncology

South Central Health System is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Application Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Epic (Wisconsin) team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional support to our oncology applications within the electronic health record.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as the primary support contact for the application's end users, ensuring timely and effective resolution of issues.
  • Identify and resolve issues that impact other application teams, working collaboratively to find solutions.
  • Guide workflow design, build, and testing of the system, analyzing technical issues associated with Epic (Wisconsin) software.
  • Implement requested changes to the system, ensuring seamless integration with other clinical applications and information systems.
  • Serve as a liaison between end users' workflow needs and Epic (Wisconsin) staff, maintaining regular communication with Epic (Wisconsin) representatives.
  • Work with Epic (Wisconsin) representatives and organization stakeholders to ensure the system meets the organization's business needs, including deliverables and timelines.
  • Develop an understanding of operational needs to set the direction for the organization's workflows, attending site visits and integrated sessions.
  • Participate in training and work with end users, troubleshooting problems and questions.
  • Review the status of projects and issues on an ongoing basis with leadership, participating in weekly communications with team members to discuss deliverables, shared issues, end user concerns, budget, and upcoming milestones.

  • Listen attentively to ensure accurate understanding, holding responses until the person has finished making their point, and repeating information to ensure accuracy.
  • Seek, examine, and interpret information from different sources to determine a problem's cause and develop a course of action to resolve the problem and prevent its recurrence.
  • Persevere in difficult situations, overcome obstacles, and reach high levels of performance when faced with stressful work situations and time pressures.
Education and Experience:
  • Registered Pharmacist, required.
  • Two years hospital, oncology, or specialty pharmacy experience, required.
  • Attain assigned EPIC (WISCONSIN) Certification(s) within 90 days of employment.
