Clinical Nurse Specialist

Nitelines USA, Inc. is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to provide temporary services at the Federal Correctional Complex Lompoc in California. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care services in accordance with legal, ethical, and institutional standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care services, including evaluating patients and administering therapeutic treatments as ordered by Health Services clinical staff.
- Perform nursing duties within the scope of your current licensure and maintain accurate records of patient care activities.
- Administer medications as prescribed and assist with the distribution of medications at the pill line.
- Monitor and evaluate patient responses to therapy and perform skin testing and venipuncture as needed.
- Record and document patient care activities on appropriate records, including health history and diagnostic testing results.
- Maintain accurate logs of all reports in accordance with Bureau of Prisons and JACHO policy.
- Ensure all sharps are secured, accounted for, stored, and disposed of according to institutional and national policy.
- Assist mid-level practitioners and physicians in the management and oversight of chronic care clinics.
- Review clinical records to ensure data is entered legibly and in the appropriate section of the medical record.
Requirements:
- Current and valid license as a Registered Nurse in California.
- Graduation from an accredited school or program.
- Knowledge of treatment of chronic health problems, including hypertension, diabetes, and asthma.
- Ability to initiate emergency care as needed according to community standards.
- Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Adhere to infection control policies and procedures.
Working Conditions:
- Normal working hours are Monday through Friday, except Federal Holidays, between 8:00 am and 2:30 pm, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch period.
- Typically work 30 hours per week, with one session equaling one hour.
