Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Recreation Specialist to join our team at Air Mobility Command. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and implementing comprehensive teen programs, working closely with the Youth Activities Director to ensure the success of our youth activities program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of teen programs, including recreational activities, educational programs, and special events.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local community organizations, schools, and government agencies to promote our youth activities program.
  • Provide guidance and support to youth participants, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
  • Collaborate with other program staff to develop and implement program policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, making recommendations for improvement as needed.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of one year of specialized experience in recreation or youth development, preferably in a military or government setting.
  • Knowledge of youth development principles, practices, and techniques.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations, including youth, families, and community organizations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with others.
  • Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, and to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications would be an asset:

  • Experience working with youth in a recreational or educational setting.
  • Knowledge of program management principles and practices.
  • Ability to develop and implement program budgets and financial plans.
  • Experience working with diverse populations, including youth, families, and community organizations.
