We are seeking a highly skilled Vascular Interventional Radiology Technologist to join our team at ChristianaCare. As a member of our VIR team, you will play a critical role in assisting physicians during vascular interventional radiology procedures and processing and storing images created during the procedure.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for Radiologic Technologists with a passion for Interventional Radiology to develop their skills and expertise. Our on-the-job training program ensures that you receive the support and guidance needed to succeed in this challenging and rewarding role.

As a Vascular Interventional Radiology Technologist, your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing technical support for vascular interventional radiology procedures, including arteriograms, embolizations, drain insertions, and other related procedures.
  • Ensuring proper safety standards are met for compliance with departmental policies, radiation safety standards, and joint commission regulations.
  • Operating required imaging equipment using established guidelines and imaging protocols.
  • Instructing students and residents and performing preceptor duties when necessary.
  • Performing quality assurance checks on equipment.
  • Demonstrating working knowledge of hospital information systems.
  • Assisting in maintaining supply inventory.
  • Assisting in departmental Performance Improvement assessments and initiatives.
  • Serving as a technical resource to the full procedural team in support of the physician.
  • Communicating appropriately with good interpersonal skills.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Graduation from an approved school of radiologic technology.
  • Interventional radiology procedural lab experience preferred.
  • Current A.R.R.T registration.
  • Current RTR Licensure with State of Delaware.
