Responsibilities:
The Action Environmental Group, parent company of Action Carting in New York City and Interstate Waste Services in Northern New Jersey/Southern New York State, is seeking an Apprentice Industrial Mechanic Helper eager to embrace the next step in their career.
As an Apprentice Industrial Mechanic Helper, you will conduct inspections and work on electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems on vehicles and equipment, collaborating with a Maintenance Team Member from the Murph.
Additional Responsibilities Include:
Adhering to established safety protocols while performing all tasks.
Completing necessary documentation using fleet maintenance software for vehicle repairs, parts usage, and repair time accounting.
Cleaning vehicles and equipment.
Conducting safety checks on vehicles.
Assisting with service calls for breakdowns.
Performing other maintenance-related tasks as required.
Maintaining a clean and safe work environment in compliance with Corporate / OSHA Standards.
Qualifications:
Experience with computer diagnostics is essential.
Prior experience in the waste management sector or heavy equipment/yellow iron dealership is advantageous.
Trade school or similar training is beneficial.
Knowledge of safety procedures and practices is required.
