Position Overview:
Title: Lead Museum Guard
Department: Operations
Employment Type: Part-time Regular, Non-Exempt
Work Schedule: Flexible hours, approximately 20-25 hours per week
Compensation: $16.50-$20.63, based on relevant experience.

Role Summary: The Lead Museum Guard is responsible for overseeing and guiding the Museum Guard personnel during evening and weekend shifts when administrative staff are unavailable. This role acts as the primary contact for the Museum during these times.

Essential Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated experience in customer service with a passion for public engagement.
  • Proven track record of reliability and strong attendance.
  • Preferred candidates will have 2-5 years of supervisory experience in a customer-focused environment, with a strong desire to lead a team during engaging exhibitions and events.
  • Availability for evening and weekend shifts is mandatory.

Desirable Qualifications:
  • Experience in an art-related field is highly regarded.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Facility Management: Supervise guard staff during evening and weekend operations. Responsibilities include preparing the Museum for daily activities, ensuring proper lighting and decorum, and securing the premises at closing.
  • Artwork Protection: Monitor visitor behavior to safeguard artwork, enforce museum regulations in a calm and friendly manner, and maintain order in designated areas.
  • Incident Management: Report incidents promptly to supervisors and complete necessary documentation at the end of each shift.
  • Visitor Assistance: Provide information to guests upon arrival and guide them to various areas of interest within the Museum.

Additional Information: Responsibilities may evolve based on business needs, and work schedules may be adjusted accordingly.
