Houston, Texas, United States Petroplan Europe Limited Full time
Position Summary:

Are you prepared to contribute to a progressive energy landscape? In this contract role, you will be integral to our client's operations, managing well and system oversight, monitoring, and compliance testing utilizing advanced real-time data and digital technologies. Your responsibilities will include daily assessments across various metrics (such as riser and well flow factors, differential pressure, temperature, sand levels, annulus pressure, produced water, and flow index values), ensuring all parameters remain within established thresholds while conducting surveillance and daily production allocation as the Operations Petroleum Engineer.

Your role will encompass support for both onshore and offshore well activities, adhering to operational guidelines. You will leverage system modeling and optimization techniques to identify and implement short- and medium-term production improvement opportunities. Additionally, you will execute, validate, and analyze surveillance data, collaborating with the subsurface team to inform our monitoring and depletion strategies.

With a focus on daily well performance, you will provide short-term production forecasts and document any production discrepancies in our management system. Employ Root Cause Failure Analysis methodologies to embed insights within the team and coordinate well intervention efforts from initiation to completion.

Your key responsibilities will also include identifying and managing well-related risks, comprehensively understanding and documenting the associated monitoring, barriers, and mitigation strategies. Your effective communication and operational directives will guide our offshore teams, and you will work closely with the Projects, Wells, and Subsurface teams for field development.

Additional responsibilities encompass ensuring operational technical assurance for the entire field, issuing well operational guidelines, supporting daily production optimization, evaluating well and reservoir performance deviations, and identifying strategies to mitigate future losses and minimize downtime. You will also assist with new well startups and subsea interventions, providing technical mentorship to enhance team capabilities.

  • Expertise in planning and executing intricate well interventions.
  • Understanding of flow assurance challenges (hydrates, scale, asphaltenes) and management approaches.
  • Familiarity with Pressure Transient Analysis.
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new software and applications.
