Job Summary:

The University of California seeks a highly skilled Surgical Technologist Lead to join our Perioperative Services team. As a key member of our surgical team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and support to our surgeons and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify and maintain specialty equipment and inventory to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Communicate with surgeons, buyers, vendors, and staff to address equipment and supply needs for complex cases.
  • Provide continuing education and training to staff on surgical instrumentation and techniques.
  • Assist the Clinical Coordinator with service-related activities and identify opportunities to streamline operations.
  • Function as a preceptor, mentor, and resource to new staff and other scrub personnel.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technician training program.
  • BART or BLS certification at time of hire with commitment to obtain BART within 6 months.
  • Three years of Surgical Tech experience in an Acute/Perioperative Services/Hospital setting.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of maintaining a therapeutic environment for patients undergoing surgical procedures.
  • Expert knowledge of a wide variety of surgical instrumentation used in various surgical procedures.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills in customer service, problem-solving, and taking initiative.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • NBSTSA certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST).
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST).
  • Expert knowledge of ENT service.

Special Conditions:

  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

Compensation:

Annual Full Pay Range: $83,771 - $104,191 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%). Hourly Equivalent: $49.90.
