Occupational Therapist Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist to join our interdisciplinary treatment team at Northern California Behavioral Health System. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and implementing therapeutic activities for geriatric, adult, and adolescent patients.
As an Occupational Therapist with our organization, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals struggling with mental health and substance abuse conditions. Salary Range: $55-$71 per hour
Key Responsibilities- Conduct group and individual sessions for patients, utilizing various mediums such as art therapy, movement therapy, physical therapy, occupational rehabilitation, exercise, games, or leisure activities.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary treatment team to develop and implement activity therapy treatment plans that meet the unique needs of each patient.
- Provide individual activity therapy as ordered by patients' physicians.
- Regularly communicate with community resources and partners to schedule hospital groups related to canine therapy, music therapy, equestrian therapy, and other community-based resources to supplement programming at the hospital.
- Evaluate patient progress and document results in patient charts and department records.
- Contribute effectively to discharge planning.
- Perform routine and assigned clinical and administrative tasks.
- Provide direct support to Adjunctive Therapist Aides, reviewing and signing off on their documentation.
- Exhibit a commitment to quality and process improvement.
- Perform related duties as requested.
- Uphold the Organization's ethics and customer service standards.
- Bachelor's degree in Psychology or a related field with certification in music, art, physical, occupational, or recreation therapy.
- One year of experience in a healthcare field with emphasis in activities and/or recreational therapy.
- Current CPR certification (or obtained within 30 days of hire).
- Verbal de-escalation and physical intervention program approved by the CNO.
- Knowledge of psychiatric and addictive disease diagnoses and treatment.
- Demonstrated group process, teaching, or training skills.
- Experience in psychiatric care environment preferred.
- Maintain confidentiality of patients at all times.
- Sensitivity to and willingness to interact with persons of various social, cultural, economic, and educational backgrounds.
- Proficiency with software and/or equipment (Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize projects, work relatively independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to working collaboratively as well as possessing the skills to lead, influence, and motivate others.

- Perform complex mental functions and basic arithmetic functions; interpret complex laws, regulations, and policies; collect, interpret, and/or analyze complex data and information.
