Job Title: Advanced Concepts Engineer

L3Harris Technologies is seeking a highly skilled Advanced Concepts Engineer to join our team in Palm Bay, FL. As a key member of our Maritime Programs team, you will be responsible for developing innovative solutions for Unmanned Underwater Vehicles (UUVs) that meet the needs of our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Meet with internal and external customers to understand their needs and develop compliant technical solutions.
  • Build relationships with stakeholders and decision-makers to solidify our position as a trusted advisor.
  • Liaise with Business Development and provide engineering guidance to pursuits.
  • Work on multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, adapting quickly to address emergent project priorities.
  • Develop technical documentation in support of gate review activities.
  • Ensure the logical and systematic development of total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
  • Develop statements of work, technical volumes, project plans, resource estimates, and material needs.
  • Orchestrate artifact development within a collaborative matrix of engineering and functional support staff.
  • Develop concepts of operation (CONOPS) and Use Cases.
  • Work within and lead multi-disciplinary technical teams of subject matter experts to develop solutions meeting customer requirements.
  • Communicate technical information to diverse audiences, including customers with disparate acumen.
  • Author and co-author whitepapers to document advanced concept solutions that address emergent requirements.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 12 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Current TS/SCI Security Clearance.
  • Experience working with US Government customers.
  • 10 years of relevant experience in Unmanned Underwater Vehicle (UUV) engineering, including extensive knowledge of the industry, vehicle platforms, payload options, and emerging technologies.
  • Familiarity with engineering processes and the ability to adapt innovative solutions to emergent missions.
Preferred Skills:
  • Demonstrated entrepreneurial success.
  • Experience with modems and optical communication waveforms and standards.
  • Experience with Agile Development principles.
  • Ability to proactively detect, identify, and address issues quickly.
  • Experience analyzing, developing, and integrating electronic systems in areas such as remote sensing, aerospace payloads, mission computing, communications, networking, robotics, and cyber/electronic warfare.
  • Desired skills in any or all of the following disciplines: RF, Optics, Acoustics, Hydrodynamics, and Moorings.
  • Proven technical business development skills.
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation).
  • Excellent people skills, with experience leading and collaborating in a multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team environment.

This is a Full-Time position in Palm Bay, FL. Position may require up to 25% travel.
