Position Summary: As a pivotal member of the Flying Horse Farms team, the Nursing Coordinator utilizes clinical expertise and meticulous attention to detail to ensure a safe and enjoyable camp experience for all participants. Your commitment to thorough preparation and proactive decision-making is essential in fostering a nurturing environment for campers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Nursing Director to oversee nursing operations during camp sessions and support medical volunteers.
  • Assist in the recruitment and evaluation of volunteer nursing staff and seasonal medical personnel.
  • Conduct comprehensive medical screenings for camper applications, ensuring the accuracy of medical records in the database.
  • Engage in camper placement processes, including medical assessments and communication with families regarding camper health status.
  • Establish relationships with healthcare champions to promote camp initiatives and participate in relevant conferences.
  • Maintain detailed records of medical volunteers and coordinate inventory management of medical supplies.
  • Distribute medical equipment and conduct regular checks to ensure all supplies are operational and within expiration limits.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to collaborative projects as an integral member of the Medical and Camp Operations Teams.
  • Engage actively with the broader medical community associated with SFCN.
  • Required to reside on-site during specific camp sessions.

Qualifications:

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Registered Nurse (RN) with a minimum of two years in pediatric care.
  • Current Registered Nursing License valid in Ohio.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • PALS certification.
  • Proficient in word processing, spreadsheet management, and online communication tools.
  • Strong communication skills, both professional and effective.
  • Ability to reside on-site during camp sessions.

Desirable Skills & Experience:

  • Interest in maintaining part-time or PRN work in a hospital setting to enhance skills.
  • Previous leadership experience.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to project management.
  • Experience in camp settings.
