Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Crane Technician to join our team at Hoist & Crane Service Group Inc. As a Senior Crane Technician, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and upgrading of industrial hoists and cranes in the field at customer locations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and upgrades on industrial hoists and cranes
  • Train and mentor field technicians
  • Conduct OSHA required hoist and crane inspections and generate inspection reports and repair orders
  • Communicate with the Service Manager and Branch Manager to schedule and complete work on a daily basis
  • Consult with customers on repair and safety-related issues and provide recommendations to improve their services
  • Maintain company-issued equipment, vehicles, and assets in a safe and proper working order
  • Operate tools, equipment, and vehicles in a safe and responsible manner
  • Maintain a supply of HCSG forms and miscellaneous materials in the company vehicle
  • Work effectively in a team environment
  • Attend company-provided trainings and seminars as required
  • Participate in HCSG's 5 Marks program
Physical Demands

The work is labor-intensive and requires frequent climbing, balancing, stooping/crouching, overhead reaching, bending, squatting, and prolonged standing and sitting. The position also involves great hand and eye coordination. Heights exceeding 50 feet are normal to incur on a daily basis to maintain a crane. The employee will be required to travel from time to time (20-50%) and must be willing to work various shifts to accommodate the needs of HCSG branches and customers.

Work Environment

The work is normally performed inside or outside, depending on customer requirements, with varying degrees of extreme hot and cold temperatures. The position will be frequently exposed to noise, heights, fumes, dust, and odors.

Minimum Qualifications
  • At least 5-7 years of crane repair and maintenance experience
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
  • Commitment to working and driving safely
  • Ability to work off the ground at various heights
  • Basic computer skills to work with web-based crane inspection programs
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Knowledge of hand tools and/or possession of hand tools
Preferred Qualifications
  • Vocational/Technical training certificate
