We are seeking a dedicated Travel Nurse RN to join our esteemed South Austin Hospital TX team. This role focuses on providing exceptional care in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU).
Certification Requirements- Current nursing certifications relevant to the position and unit are mandatory.
- Contract Type: RN - CVICU
- Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
- On-Call: Not required
- Proficient in cardiac monitoring and rhythm interpretation.
- Experience with titratable drips.
- Solid understanding of hemodynamics.
- Experience managing respiratory patients, including those on vents, Bipap, trachs, and airvo.
- Knowledge of open heart surgery recovery protocols.
- Familiarity with ECMO, Impella, and balloon pump operations.
- Experience with CRRT/SLED procedures.
- Charge nurse experience in CVICU is preferred.
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift Hours: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
- Weekend Shifts: 4 weekend shifts for day shift; 6 weekend shifts for night shift.
- Unit: CV ICU
- Bed Capacity: 8 beds
- Staffing: 25 personnel
- Patient Ratios: 2:1, 1:1
- Staff Composition: Day Shift – charge and 4 RNs; Night Shift – charge and 4 RNs.
- Equipment: GE bedside monitors, Alaris IV pumps, and various advanced cardiac support devices.
- EMR System: Meditech
- Common Procedures: Central line and chest tube insertion, bronchoscopies, tracheostomies, intubation.
- Dress Code: Navy scrubs.
- Staffing Structure: Day Shift – charge and 4 RNs; Night Shift – charge and 4 RNs.
- Permanent Positions: Yes
- Ideal Candidate: A team player with a positive attitude and adaptability.
