Biorepository Technician

Actalent is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Biorepository Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for sorting and inventorying research materials, including wet tissues, blocks, slides, paper data, and temperature-sensitive materials.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Standard Operating Procedures and equipment associated with laboratory duties. They will also be able to maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with the Biorepository Coordinator.

• This role involves handling animal specimens, understanding Quality Control procedures, and performing work accordingly.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential for this position.
• The successful candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Sort and inventory research materials
• Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively
• Understand and follow Standard Operating Procedures
• Perform Quality Control procedures

Requirements:

• Ability to follow SOPs and maintain lab safety
• Good understanding of inventory and sample management
• Ability to record and enter data into inventory systems
• Good attention to detail

Work Environment:

This is a contract-to-hire position with a 6-month duration. The work site is fully on-site in Leesburg, VA. The work environment is great, with a familial style work environment and state-of-the-art facilities.
