Job Title: Dental HygienistJob Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Dental Hygienist to join our team at the State of Minnesota. As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality oral health care services to our residents at the Minnesota Veterans Homes. Your expertise will help us deliver exceptional care and improve the overall well-being of our patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide dental hygiene services to residents, including cleanings, exams, and education on oral health care.
  • Develop and implement individualized oral health care plans for residents.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Conduct oral health education and training for direct care staff.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance oral health care services.
Requirements:
  • Registration with the Minnesota Board of Dentistry as a Dental Hygienist, in good standing.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification or ability to obtain by time of hire.
  • Experience working as a Dental Hygienist, preferably in a geriatric or special needs population.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience providing 1:1 education regarding brushing techniques.

Additional Requirements:
  • A Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) background check may be conducted on the top finalist(s) for the position(s). When conducted, a finalist must pass the DHS background check.
  • A Tuberculosis (Mantoux) screening (or chest x-ray) is required prior to employment.
  • Employment reference checks will be conducted on finalists. This may include a review of documentation related to job performance and contact with the applicant's former employer(s)
