Position Overview

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) in Pediatric Neurology plays a crucial role in delivering specialized healthcare to children with neurological conditions. This position involves collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care, including assessment, management, and referral of health issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver direct patient care, developing care plans in partnership with physicians and nursing staff.
  • Communicate follow-up plans effectively with healthcare providers.
  • Prescribe and monitor pharmacological treatments in accordance with established protocols.
  • Participate in both high and low-risk deliveries as necessary.
  • Stabilize and transport patients when required.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of current professional and legal trends in pediatric practice.
  • Identify and address educational needs of patients' families.
  • Ensure adherence to established standards of care through appropriate resource management.
  • Engage in self and peer evaluations to enhance care quality.
  • Contribute to the development and review of clinical policies and procedures.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and educational outreach programs.
  • Act as a clinical resource for staff and serve as a preceptor for APP students.
  • Analyze diagnostic data to inform treatment decisions.
  • Evaluate treatment goals considering safety, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:
Applicants must possess a degree from an accredited institution.

Work Experience:
A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a related field is required.

Certifications:
Current or eligible licensure in the State of Illinois is mandatory, along with eligibility for credentialing through the Medical Staff Office.

Preferred Qualifications
Education:
An advanced nursing degree or completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program is preferred.
