About the Job

Leadership Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Principal to join our team. As an Assistant Principal, you will play a vital role in driving student academic outcomes by facilitating professional development, supporting staff, and creating a safe and supportive academic culture.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Coaching and Development: Provide direct coaching and instructional guidance to staff, plan and provide professional development in collaboration with others, and model identity-safe, culturally-relevant pedagogical practices.
  2. Staff Support and Evaluation: Model effective use of differentiated instructional strategies for diverse learners, observe staff and debrief observations to improve teaching practices, provide regular constructive feedback, and conduct staff evaluations using LPS-approved evaluation rubrics.
  3. Collaboration and Teamwork: Co-plan units, lessons, and formative assessments with staff, support staff in collection and analysis of student data results, and develop staff's ability to differentiate instruction to meet individualized student needs.
  4. Communication and Community Building: Collaborate with school leaders to make instructional decisions based on student performance, maintain communication with caregivers as needed, and develop positive relationships with the school community aligned with LPS' culture and values.

Requirements

Education and Experience: A bachelor's degree from an accredited university and 4 years of successful teaching experience in diverse educational settings. Additionally, a minimum of one year of successful coaching experience and one year of successful experience planning and facilitating professional development are required.

Licensing and Other Requirements: Valid Clear California Teaching Credential and valid California Administrative Services Credential or Certificate of Eligibility or Verification of enrollment in an Administrative Services Credential or intent to complete the CPACE exam.
