Host/Hostess Job Description

TPC Potomac at Avenel Farm is a prestigious golf course located in Potomac, MD, just under 20 miles from the nation's capital. As a Host/Hostess, you will be part of our team that provides exceptional service to players, members, and guests.

Responsibilities:
  • Greet all arriving players, members, and guests at the dining area, making them feel welcome and at ease.
  • Escort guests to their desired dining location, present menus, and inform them of their server.
  • Promptly notify servers of newly seated tables to ensure prompt service.
  • Assess the dining room and maintain an accurate seating chart.
  • Schedule dining reservations and arrange special services as requested.
  • Ensure workstations are neat, clean, and properly set according to TPC standards.
  • Keep station stocked with required supplies and inspect menus for accuracy.
  • Bid farewell to departing guests, thanking them for their visit and inquiring about their experience.
  • Advise supervisors of special guests, member complaints, and any issues that need attention.
  • Attend pre-shift meetings and expedite food and beverage items as needed.
  • Handle cash, make accurate change, and record credit card transactions.
  • Understand and forward member and guest comments and complaints to supervisors.
  • Ensure compliance with operating guidelines, state and federal laws, and TPC Brand Standards.
Physical Demands and Working Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, kneel, use hands to handle or feel, and talk or hear. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, color vision, distance, and peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
