Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Interventional Radiology Technologist to join our team at DMC Harper University/Hutzel Women's Hospital. As a key member of our radiology department, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic interventional exams, verifying patient identity, and reviewing medical records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interview patients to obtain medical history and assess risk factors
  • Explain procedures to patients, including risks and benefits
  • Set up equipment and acquire images as per script
  • Review images, make initial observations, and document exceptions
  • Recognize and respond to medical emergencies
  • Provide post-care instructions to patients
  • Participate in process improvement activities
  • Provide imaging education to residents and new employees
Requirements
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiology or Vascular-Interventional Radiography
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BLS) training
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification (PALS)
  • One or more years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiology
Skills Required
  • Analytical and clinical skills to determine the most appropriate method of providing radiographs
  • Interpersonal and communication skills to deal effectively with patients and hospital personnel
  • Technical knowledge to operate equipment, including specialized equipment and computers
  • Ability to work productively and effectively in a complex environment
