MRI Technologist Position

We are seeking a highly skilled MRI Technologist to join our team at WellStar Health System, Inc.
About the Job
- This is a full-time position working days, Friday through Sunday.
- You will be responsible for performing various technical procedures requiring independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative in the utilization of equipment for the diagnosis and treatment of diseases.
Responsibilities
- Equipment Maintenance:
- Demonstrate the ability to adjust technique so that patient receives the best study possible and that image quality is maintained.
- Report problems regarding malfunctioning equipment to supervisor or service provider, so that problem can be corrected in a timely manner.
- Clean, disinfect, and maintain equipment in accordance with infection control policy and department cleaning schedule.
- Obtain complete clinical history, gather examination data, and assess for contraindicating conditions.
- Follow established procedures for the administration of contrast media so that no patient condition deteriorates, and no patient suffers undue pain due to error or poor technique.
- Ensure that all studies have proper patient identification.
- Review images for clinically acceptable results and release patients.
- Produce acceptable images, follow established exam protocols.
- Ensure that equipment is fully operational prior to each use, by checking for proper calibration and operating deficiencies.
- Send all studies to PACS immediately after completion in RIS and print CDs as needed.
- Restock linens and supplies, and maintain MRI department in clean and orderly condition.
- Transport patients, position patients, and help them on and off procedure table.
- Perform patient charging activities on the day the service is rendered.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Sciences or related field.
- Successful completion of an accredited MRI program or ARRT-R required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Salary Range: $65,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
