Position Overview:

The primary responsibility of the Registered Nurse is to oversee all nursing staff during assigned shifts, ensuring the delivery of compassionate and high-quality care to all residents.

This role involves monitoring nursing personnel's performance and providing timely evaluations of their work.

Additionally, the Registered Nurse will assess the individual needs of residents across various domains, including physical, emotional, spiritual, and social aspects, and contribute to the development of personalized care plans.

Training and supervising nursing staff is also a key responsibility, along with managing emergency nursing calls within the Retirement Center.

Key Responsibilities:
To guarantee that each resident receives exceptional care.

To achieve or maintain optimal physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being in alignment with comprehensive assessments and care plans.

Responsibilities include punctuality, receiving reports from the previous shift, reviewing the 24-hour report, and checking the calendar for scheduled appointments and necessary lab work.
Assign duties, breaks, and resident care tasks to nursing staff.
Supervise nursing personnel on shift, ensuring adherence to job responsibilities, protocols, and professional standards. This includes counseling and, if necessary, disciplining staff according to the facility's employee manual.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, documenting all actions and results. Ensure all medication and treatment records are accurately maintained. Verify and track incoming medications and treatments.
Assess residents' needs, contacting physicians as required (e.g., for nursing concerns, changes in condition, significant weight fluctuations, incidents involving residents, or medication inquiries). Accurately document and implement all new physician orders.
Conduct rounds with physicians, ensuring all flagged areas requiring physician signatures are addressed.

Refer to the Pharmacist Medicine Review Nurses Recommendations sheet and the Physicians chart audit notebook for any questions or concerns that need to be communicated.



Additional Responsibilities:

Dress Code:
Adhere to a clean and pressed uniform policy, which includes white uniforms or white pants with colored tops. Nylons are required if wearing a dress or culottes. Clean, polished white shoes are mandatory, and a GV badge must be worn while on duty. Hair must be neatly tied back or pinned up.

Qualifications:
Must possess a current Indiana RN or LPN license, or hold a valid temporary license as a GPN or GN.

Compensation:
$41.00 per hour
