Position Summary
The Cashier is responsible for managing monetary transactions using cash registers, electronic scanners, and other related tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome customers as they approach the service area.
- Process payments through cash, credit, or debit cards for purchases.
- Assist customers with inquiries or any pricing issues.
- Ensure accurate financial transactions by reconciling the cash register at the start and end of each shift.
- Identify product prices and calculate bills using available technology.
- Help customers understand the menu, address complaints, or provide necessary information.
- Package purchased items appropriately.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays on a rotating schedule.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
- Outstanding customer service abilities and a strong work ethic.
- Effective verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in operating cash registers and calculators.
- Basic math skills for making change.
- Familiarity with company products and customer service policies.
- Dependable transportation and punctuality.
- Willingness to accept guidance from management and represent the company positively.
Education and Experience Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Successful completion of on-the-job training.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods, typically 8 hours or more.
- Capability to lift items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks over prolonged periods.
