Job Description

The Warehouse Laborer / Delivery Driver is a key member of our logistics team, responsible for assisting the shipping & receiving clerk and operating a light delivery truck or similar vehicle to pick up and deliver parts, materials, and finished products.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Shipping & Receiving Clerk with daily duties, including receiving and unloading incoming materials, pulling and loading material orders for jobs, and maintaining a clean and organized warehouse environment.
  • Load truck with items scheduled for deliveries and determine the most efficient order of delivery.
  • Deliver items and obtain receiving slips, using a cell phone to report on progress and maintain simple records of deliveries and truck mileage.
  • Pick up returns and items for use by the company, verifying items received against packing slips and signing receipts.
  • Follow maintenance schedule for having truck serviced and report any mechanical problems to the supervisor.
  • Assist in general warehouse duties upon completing delivery route and use good judgment and initiative to perform duties.
  • Represent Bernhard, LLC in a professional and pleasant manner.

Job Details

  • Position: Full Time, Non-Exempt
  • Reports to: Operations Manager

Qualifications

  • Valid driver's license (Class A CDL) and clean driving record.
  • Ability to read directions and use a street map to plot delivery route.
  • Ability to maintain simple logs and records.
  • Dependable worker able to carry out a series of work instructions without constant supervision.
  • Must be physically able to lift up to fifty pounds regularly in order to load and deliver packages.
  • Must practice safe driving habits and abide by all highway rules and regulations.
  • High school diploma or holder of GED or equivalent.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent multitasking skills, with the ability to perform duties outside of scope of work when necessary.

Travel Requirements

  • As needed.

Physical/Work Environment Requirements

  • Climbing stairs.
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Light work that includes adjusting and/or moving objects up to 50 pounds.
