Introduction

Are you ready to make a significant difference in the lives of patients? At TriStar Centennial Medical Center, our nursing team plays a vital role in providing exceptional care across numerous facilities, impacting millions of patient interactions annually. As a Stem Cell Collection Nurse, you will contribute to transformative healthcare practices.

Schedule: 7-10 hour shifts with the option for four 10-hour days (rotating days off based on scheduling). Weekend shifts may be required. Flexibility is essential. Responsibilities include performing stem cell apheresis collections for bone marrow transplants, photopheresis procedures, red blood cell exchanges, and apheresis collections for both adult and pediatric research studies.

***Sign-on bonus of $8,000 for eligible candidates, distributed in 20% increments every six months over two years. A six-month commitment is required, or the initial payment must be reimbursed.***

Job Responsibilities and Qualifications

  • The Registered Nurse delivers direct patient care in accordance with the Registered Nurse Practice Act.
  • Employs therapeutic communication in daily interactions.
  • Ensures a safe and therapeutic environment.
  • Identifies nursing challenges tailored to individual patient needs.
  • Plans personalized patient care using an interdisciplinary approach.
  • Engages in performance improvement initiatives.
  • Provides care that aligns with the hospital's mission and vision.

In a charge nurse capacity, Registered Nurses oversee daily operations to guarantee quality patient care in a therapeutic setting. Responsibilities include making staff assignments based on patient needs and staff skills, serving as clinical resources, and responding promptly to inquiries from physicians, staff, or patients.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Monitoring, documenting, and reporting changes in patient conditions while maintaining accurate records.
  • Ordering, interpreting, and evaluating diagnostic tests to assess patient conditions.
  • Demonstrating knowledge of human growth and development, assessment, treatment options, and care for patients of varying ages.
  • Promoting hospital customer service initiatives.
  • Utilizing the nursing process to provide individualized patient care.
  • Exhibiting proficiency in technical skills and procedures.
Required Qualifications:
  • RN licensure from the TN Board of Nursing or a compact state.
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Oncology Nursing Society Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Administration Provider Card within six months of hire for RNs with six months of oncology experience or twelve months if no oncology experience.
  • Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) or BMT Certified Nurse preferred.
  • BSN preferred.
