Job Summary

The Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supervisory Healthcare Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare facilities engineering team, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and leadership in the planning, design, and operation of healthcare facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical guidance and oversight to healthcare facilities engineering staff
  • Develop and implement healthcare facilities engineering policies and procedures
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure compliance with healthcare industry standards and regulations
  • Collaborate with healthcare facilities management teams to identify and prioritize capital improvement projects
  • Develop and manage budgets for healthcare facilities engineering projects
  • Provide training and guidance to healthcare facilities engineering staff on new technologies and best practices
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Engineering or Architecture
  • 5+ years of experience in healthcare facilities engineering
  • Proven track record of successfully managing healthcare facilities engineering projects
  • Strong technical knowledge of healthcare facilities engineering principles and practices
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
Working Conditions

The work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts that require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, training rooms, and libraries. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated. The Deputy Chief Engineer must also work outdoors in all types of weather. There may be occasional exposure to moderate risks or discomforts in storage areas or hazardous waste sites.

Education
