Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Sourcing Manager to join our team at Rockline Industries & Iatric Manufacturing. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and managing our global supply strategy for the nonwovens category.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop comprehensive and dynamic sourcing strategies to support business unit strategy and deliver business needs.
  • Mentor others on category strategy development and select global strategic and non-strategic suppliers who deliver best net value, product development, innovation, and competitiveness requirements.
  • Identify new innovation opportunities that may be a source of competitive advantage and communicate those opportunities to stakeholders.
  • Develop and manage the supplier base for global solutions, lead supplier discussions focused on cost reduction, risk mitigation, and value improvement, and complete category analysis on price and cost, supplier comparison, market, and industry trends.
  • Study and understand global markets, staying abreast of changing dynamics, and develop sources of market intelligence.
  • Support internal and external customers in developing commercial terms with suppliers, problem-solving, pricing matrix, supply chain optimization, resolving raw material quality issues, and completing and communicating supplier performance reviews.
  • Create Purchase Order documents for all major project purchases and develop industry, product, and supply base knowledge, including key cost drivers.
  • Forge key strategic relationships with strategic suppliers and industry leaders, and develop those relationships, while remaining mindful of long-term mutually beneficial objectives and providing the business with access to supplier innovation.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 4 years of strategic sourcing experience or experience in a related discipline.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, Economics, or Engineering or related field is required. May consider years of experience and education in lieu of degree. MBA preferred. CPSM, CPIM or C.P.M. preferred.
  • Excellent verbal, written, analytical, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to perform market and industry trend analysis, evaluate supply sources, and assist customers by identifying solutions to their needs.
  • Ability to analyze data and make recommendations and appropriate business decisions.
  • Ability to perform market surveys and to analyze cost and pricing data.
  • Ability to apply mathematical and statistical concepts and modeling techniques to evaluate alternative and provide recommendations.
  • Ability to plan negotiation strategies and effectively negotiate terms and conditions.
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet impending deadlines.
  • Ability to perform timely and effective RFQ/RFP preparation and analysis.
  • Ability to read and comprehend complex contracts/agreements.
  • Ability to build and foster healthy internal and external relationships.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with other departments and suppliers.
  • Ability to mentor and develop associates on Sourcing best practices.
  • Contract writing skills to establish contracts/agreements and leases.
  • Excellent knowledge of contract law and Uniform Commercial Code (UCC).
  • A strong background in manufacturing.
  • A high-energy, self-motivated individual that can develop and implement strategies.
  • Strong analytical and persuasive skills and the ability to articulate thoughts and sell ideas to diverse groups.
  • Ability to lead by developing consensus and igniting action in others.
  • Negotiates with a high level of discretion, and in situations that are of high complexity, and have a high business impact.
  • Experience with JD Edwards purchasing system module.
  • Must be able to travel independently nationally and internationally (globally); up to 20% travel may be required.
