Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist

Orlando Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist to join our team in the Cardiology department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing technical support to physicians during patient procedures, ensuring the safe and effective operation of radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment, and providing exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Assist physicians with patient preparation, intra and post-interventional/surgical procedures, and management of supplies and devices.
- Operate radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment, as well as specialized imaging and technical equipment used for procedures.
- Provide patient education, advocacy, and liaison services.
- Collaborate with medical staff and interdisciplinary teams to effectively plan and manage the department.
- Deliver high-quality care while recognizing patient conditions and ensuring successful completion of procedures and protocols.
- Assess patient physical condition and age-specific needs.
- Ensure patient education on procedure performed, needs, safety, and comfort.
- Acquire patient clinical history and accurately document information.
- Verify files and records for completeness and accuracy.
- Position patients, equipment, and devices to achieve high-quality images for interpretation.
- Assess processed image media for technical quality and patient identification.
- Apply principles of radiation protection to minimize exposure to patients, self, and others.
- Provide physiological and hemodynamic monitoring during diagnostic and interventional procedures.
- Support physicians as scrub assistants for cardiovascular procedures.
- Demonstrate knowledge of aseptic technique.
- Appraise and evaluate actual and potential hemostasis of a vessel post-procedure.
- Locate, use, and troubleshoot complex technical equipment/instruments.
- Maintain customer service skills in communication with staff, visitors, and coworkers.
- Maintain adequate inventory levels of supplies, equipment, resources, tools, and forms.
- Maintain high standards of patient care, documentation, and professionalism.
- Understand application and technical aspects of equipment and supplies used in procedures.
- Ensure case turnover time is within established department standards.
- Graduate of an accredited school of Cardiovascular Technology, Respiratory Therapy, or Radiologic Technology.
- Current BLS and ACLS certification.
- Valid Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) certification or Cardiovascular Intervention (CI) certification.
- Three (3) years' experience in Cardiac Catheterization lab experience required.
