Position Summary
CDI Engineering Solutions is seeking an Instrument Engineer to deliver technical assistance to operations, maintenance, and capital project teams. This role will focus on enhancing instrument reliability and addressing recurring instrument-related challenges.
Responsibilities
1. Plan and oversee work, deliver technical training, set goals and objectives, and prioritize tasks.
2. Lead and coordinate engineering assignments and manage workloads utilizing established engineering methodologies.
3. Collaborate with the instrument maintenance team and operations to strategize and achieve reliability targets for the facility.
4. Provide assistance to Project Engineering in the specification of instrumentation for capital initiatives.
5. Review project design documents to ensure proper design concerning reliability, application, and maintenance standards.
6. Maintain accurate documentation for all instrumentation equipment, including equipment files, schematics, specifications, calibration records, manuals, etc.
7. Work towards enhancing the reliability of process control valves.
8. Develop strategies for monitoring performance and addressing areas of concern.
9. Support maintenance in formulating repair and upgrade plans for significant turnarounds.
Possess the ability to interpret instrument schematics, data sheets, I/O wiring diagrams, specification sheets, loop diagrams, and P&IDs to ensure comprehensive documentation on instrument-related equipment files, calibration records, etc.
Qualifications
1. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
2. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team setting, manage multiple projects, and possess excellent communication skills for impactful technical presentations.
3. Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
4. Conduct responsibilities in a manner that safeguards personal safety and the safety of all personnel on site. Promptly report any Safety, Health, or Environmental incidents or concerns to management for timely resolution. Participate in Monthly Safety Meetings to mitigate off-site and job-related accidents.
Successful candidates must meet background screening requirements, including motor vehicle record checks, drug testing, and pre-employment physical assessments prior to commencing work.
Education Requirements
B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Candidates should possess a minimum of two (2) years of industrial experience with direct involvement in process instrumentation and project design documentation.
