Company Overview: Camp Fire Alaska is a premier summer residential youth camp located in Copper Landing, AK on Kenai Lake.

Salary: $1,070/week

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team as a Camp Nurse at our summer residential youth camp. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a diverse group of young people and provide excellent healthcare services while living on camp premises.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the healthcare needs of camp participants and staff
  • Review health histories, dispense medications, and respond to first aid needs
  • Mental health needs of campers and staff, including developing a stocking system for medical supplies and administrative duties
  • Communicate with guests and staff, develop and lead staff training on camp health and safety issues, adhere to American Camp Association standards and Camp Fire Alaska policies
  • Engage in work that supports Camp Fire's Promise to provide youth with the opportunity to find their spark, lift their voice and discover who they are

Qualifications:

  • Current State of Alaska RN Licensure or ability to transfer out-of-state license
  • Twenty-one (21) years of age required to maintain compliance with regulatory and accrediting entities
  • Prior experience with youth healthcare delivery, preferably in a residential camp setting
  • Experience working with diverse populations: multi-cultural, age, gender, etc, is preferred
  • Valid Driver's License and eligibility to drive agency vehicles with ability to drive and maneuver 16 passenger vans and trailer in tow, is preferred
