Quantum Space is revolutionizing the commercial space frontier with its constellation of data buy services, spacecraft deployment, and space logistics for partners. We're seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the design of spacecraft from concept development through launch.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and draft flight hardware and ground support equipment, including spacecraft structure, avionics enclosures, fluid systems, and harnessing.
  • Generate, review, and approve designs of components and mechanical systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Evaluate technical risks, cross-functional issues, and mitigation actions to ensure successful project execution.
  • Create content for design reviews, tests, and verification activities, and generate environmental test plans.
  • Support manufacturing, integration and test, and launch site operations.
Requirements:
  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant design experience.
  • Proficient with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing per ASME y14.5.
  • Knowledge of commercial, industry, and NASA specifications and standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proficient managing large assemblies using Creo Parametric.
  • Experience with conceptual, detailed design, and integration and test phases of programs.
  • Expertise designing for specific manufacturing processes.
  • Familiarity with harnessing and model-based definition.
