OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION:
The primary objective of this role is to conduct all patient imaging procedures with the utmost proficiency, fully utilizing all radiographic, fluoroscopic, and computed tomography (CT) equipment and protocols to consistently capture images that meet diagnostic standards of radiographic density, contrast, and resolution.
AUTHORITY AND RESPONSIBILITY:
As a Radiologic Imaging Specialist with CT certification, you are entrusted with the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary to fulfill your assigned duties.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS / DUTIES:
Operates fixed radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment.
Handles the standard C-Arm in both sterile and non-sterile environments.
Utilizes and is familiar with techniques for portable x-ray units.
Understands EPIC systems.
Has received training and experience in initiating IVs.
Achieves expected production levels (volume) at reasonable speeds and within scheduled timelines.
Experience with MRI scanning is beneficial.
Maintains a repeat rate of 6% or lower.
Adheres to all radiation protection and shielding protocols for patients and staff.
Ensures the physical safety of patients and staff.
Keeps all areas clean and organized, maintaining supplies for all exams and procedures.
Delivers services to patients and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
Utilizes departmental and hospital information systems as necessary for patient care.
Corrects exam entries in EPIC as needed.
Submits help desk tickets when required.
Communicates with teleradiology as necessary.
Follows two patient identifiers protocol with all patients.
Familiar with the appropriate forms for workplace injuries.
Knowledgeable about Occurrence Worksheet Forms related to patient incidents (e.g., extravasations, allergic reactions, patient falls, etc.).
Verifies PACs after completing exams.
Prints films/CDs upon request.
Adheres to sterile procedures in the operating room.
Takes initiative and actively participates in reception, film library, and transport functions.
Enhances performance through ongoing education. Maintains required continuing education credits.
Provides patient care appropriately to the following age groups:
Neonate - Birth to 1 month.
Infant - 1 month to 1 year.
Early Childhood - 1 year to 5 years.
Late Childhood - 8 years to 12 years.
Adolescence - 13 years to 17 years.
Young Adult - 18 years to 25 years.
Adult - 26 years to 54 years.
Senior Adult - 55 years to 64 years.
Geriatric – 64 years and older.
Evaluates for age-appropriate behavior, motor skills, and physiological norms for the identified patient groups.
Recognizes patients' psychological development and adjusts approaches accordingly.
Identifies potential lifestyle changes due to illness that may affect discharge planning and develops plans accordingly.
Assesses patients for signs of abuse or neglect and refers to appropriate personnel or community agencies.
Employs age-appropriate interview and communication techniques.
