LMI is in search of a skilled Application Developer to assist in the design, construction, testing, deployment, and maintenance of a robust platform that underpins a vital Army Data Layer (ADL). This position is integral to a team dedicated to creating the foundational infrastructure that will evolve into the next generation of the Army Data Platform. The Application Developer will collaborate with Government Leads, solution architects, data owners, data stewards, process analysts, and data scientists to comprehend requirements and devise solutions that fulfill business objectives. The current work arrangement is remote, transitioning to a hybrid model with potential client site engagements.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop a master-agent architecture to facilitate ETL pipelines.
- Design and implement APIs adhering to REST best practices.
- Create and execute automated testing protocols.

- Engage in infrastructure evaluations to pinpoint best practices and improvement opportunities.
- Adhere to established practices and project guidelines, including source code management, automated testing, deployment strategies, and thorough documentation.
- Participate in requirements gathering and design workshops to ascertain optimal solution requirements.
- Architect and develop applications that support both internal and external communications.
- Collaborate with diverse technical teams to build a scalable and innovative service-based architecture.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, computer engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Relevant work experience may substitute for formal education.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in developing production applications.
- Experience with cloud service providers (AWS/Azure/Google Cloud) or in-house data centers.
- Proficiency in Python.
- Ability to comprehend various system-to-system interface types and design solutions across on-premises and cloud environments.
- Familiarity with ETL concepts and solutions, particularly in big data engineering, including experience with Apache Spark.
- Strong understanding of relational database systems such as Oracle and PostgreSQL.
- Experience with non-relational databases like MongoDB, Redis, and Elasticsearch.
- Web development experience, including JavaScript, JSON, HTML, and CSS.
- Experience with streaming and queuing frameworks such as Kafka and RabbitMQ.
- Active Secret Clearance is required.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Palantir.
- Analytical mindset with a data-driven approach to problem-solving, particularly in diagnosing issues related to platform functionality or data pipelines.
- Effective communication skills, especially in translating functional requirements into technical solutions and coordinating across both technical and non-technical teams.
