Pet Care Specialist Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Veterinary Assistant to join our team at Petco Animal Supplies Stores, Inc. As a key member of our veterinary care team, you will provide exceptional medical care to our patients and deliver outstanding customer service to their owners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide medical care to patients under the supervision of veterinarians and veterinary technicians
  • Assist with appointments, surgery, dentistry, and euthanasia
  • Collect patient histories, document electronic medical records, and maintain patient safety
  • Schedule appointments, provide client education, and relay test results
  • Prepare patients for surgical and dental procedures, and assist with anesthesia and recovery

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous experience in veterinary care or a related field preferred
