About the Role

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular maintenance on production equipment, including cleaning, adjusting, repairing, and replacing parts.
  • Install and repair electrical, gas, air, and water systems.
  • Perform facility maintenance on a preventive or emergency basis, ensuring all work areas are safe and well-maintained.
  • Diagnose and repair complex equipment, including mechanical, electromechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Assist in the establishment and execution of a preventive maintenance program.
  • Provide job skill training as necessary and maintain licenses/certifications.
  • Resolve maintenance issues and escalate when necessary.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent, and/or trade school certification/formal apprenticeship or other relevant specialized training.
  • Complete knowledge and understanding of all aspects of the job, including single and three-phase electrical systems and electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in using standard maintenance, power, and hand tools and equipment used in the trade.
  • Basic reading, writing, communication, interpersonal, and arithmetic skills/abilities.
  • Ability to function in a collaborative and cooperative work environment.
  • Working knowledge of commonly used desktop computer software applications (building automation, communications, and maintenance software).
  • Ability to adapt to change, unforeseen situations, and handle work interruptions.
  • Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.
  • Multitasks, prioritizes, and meets deadlines in a timely manner.
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance.
  • Occasional overtime is a requirement of this position.
  • Duties regularly involve moderate to heavy body and strength movements, including lifting (up to approximately 50 lbs.), moving, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, climbing, and crawling.
  • General knowledge of heating and cooling systems for general facilities operations and controlled environment operations.
  • Ability to respond to after-hour calls on a 24/7 basis or willing to work pre-scheduled call-in weeks on a rotating shift with the facilities team.
