Job Overview
The Culinary Operations Supervisor plays a vital role within the food and beverage division. This position is accountable for overseeing all culinary areas and reports directly to the Director of Food and Beverage.
Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills Required:
- 2-4 years of experience in Food and Beverage or Kitchen Management
- Strong supervisory, coaching, and staff development abilities
- Excellent communication and computer proficiency
- Guest service-oriented with a focus on teamwork
- Detail-oriented with the ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Dependable and capable of managing multiple priorities
- Ability to meet frequent short timeline goals and deadlines
Key Responsibilities:
- Daily oversight of the Food and Beverage Department
- Manage the preparation of catered events and concession services
- Recruit, supervise, and develop culinary staff including line cooks and chefs
- Oversee both front and back of house operations
- Conduct forecasting and budget management for food and beverage operations
- Maintain cost controls and perform monthly inventory checks
- Implement and sustain food and beverage sales and marketing initiatives
- Coordinate staffing and personnel management
- Adhere to all Human Resources guidelines
- Curate menu selections for bar, grill, and banquet services
- Manage food ordering and preparation processes
- Ensure quality assurance and provide training for all team members
- Uphold food and beverage policies and standards
- Supervise event setups to ensure accuracy and attention to detail
- Oversee daily accounting procedures
- Facilitate coordination between various departments
- Conduct daily inspections to ensure compliance with health regulations
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within the kitchen
- Implement closing procedures and manage cash handling practices
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors or management
Working Conditions:
- Physical activity including extended periods of standing, walking, bending, and lifting
- Regular reaching with arms and hands
- Occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs
- Use of sight and manual dexterity to serve meals and operate kitchen equipment
- Moderate to loud noise levels
- Extended hours during peak seasons and availability on weekends and holidays
