The Pharmacy Technician plays a vital role in the Marshfield Clinic Health System (MCHS) by assisting pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications. This position requires strong communication skills and attention to detail to ensure accurate and efficient service to patients and customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, including counting and labeling medications, and maintaining accurate records.
- Interact with patients and customers to provide excellent customer service, answering questions and addressing concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols and regulations.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure accurate and timely medication dispensing.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay up-to-date on pharmacy laws, regulations, and best practices.
Requirements
- High School graduate or equivalent required; Associate of Pharmacy Technician degree or diploma preferred.
- One year of customer service experience required; two years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician preferred.
- Pharmacy Technician registration or licensure required; Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification preferred.
Additional Requirements for Pharmacy Technician Senior
- Two years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician required.
- Knowledge of Wisconsin pharmacy law and third-party reimbursement rules required.
