Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Per Diem Registered Nurse III to join our VCMC Nursing Float Pool team. As a Per Diem Registered Nurse III, you will provide direct or indirect nursing care to hospital patients in a general or specialized nursing unit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct or indirect nursing care to hospital patients in a general or specialized nursing unit.
  • Follow prescribed doctors' orders concerning treatments and medications.
  • Makes patient observations, records and reports all pertinent information.
  • Provides follow-through on judgement.
  • Assists doctors in examination and treatment.
  • Provides unit organization and is responsible for completion of all delegated and indicated nursing duties by the end of the assigned shift.
  • Assists in training, supervision and evaluation of ancillary personnel and in the training of new personnel.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Must possess and maintain a current, valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the State of California, or licensure in another state with California licensure pending.
  • Must possess a current, valid Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification by first day of employment and maintain it thereafter.
  • Must successfully complete the Health Care Agency Pharmacology examination within three (3) months of employment.
What We Offer
  • Certification Pay: $0.813 per hour based on scheduled work week hours for each qualified certification up to a maximum of five (5) certifications.
  • Educational Incentive: Incumbents may be eligible for educational incentive pay in addition to the adjusted base rate of pay in the noted amounts for educational attainments which are not specifically required for the classifications.
  • Bilingual Incentive: Incumbents may also be eligible for bilingual incentive depending upon operational need and certification of skill.
  • Evening & Night Shift Differential: 7.5.% - 15%.
  • Weekend Shift Differential: $2.00 per hour.
  • Health Care Plan: Per Diem employees may purchase the Ventura County Health Care Plan (VCHCP) at their own expense.
