Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough physical therapy assessments for patients with intricate medical conditions.
- Develop and implement tailored treatment plans utilizing specialized interventions and equipment as per your area of expertise.
- Educate patients and their families, ensuring they understand the therapeutic processes and home care techniques.
- Engage in peer evaluations and contribute to initiatives aimed at enhancing performance and quality of care.
- Maintain meticulous documentation in accordance with departmental standards.
- Initiate and manage discharge planning to ensure smooth transitions for patients.
- Commit to ongoing professional development by completing 20 hours of continuing education annually or pursuing an advanced degree, along with providing educational sessions for staff.
- Offer mentorship to junior staff and assist in their professional growth.
- Support annual competency assessments and training for staff members.
- Assist in patient scheduling and help maintain optimal staffing levels.
- Provide leadership coverage in the absence of supervisory personnel as needed.
- Adhere to all compliance protocols relevant to your role.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support departmental objectives.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy.
Experience:
Required: Minimum of three years of experience working with patients with neurological disorders.
Preferred: Specialty certification and progress towards an advanced degree, along with Functional Independent Measurement (FIM) certification and CPR certification.
Working Conditions:
Manual dexterity and significant motor coordination are essential, with the ability to exert considerable physical effort, including lifting up to 50 lbs. Exposure to various environmental factors may occur.
Credentials: Licensed Physical Therapist (PT).
This position is exempt and offers a competitive hourly wage.
