Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Back-end Developer to own the backend development of our healthcare platform. As a key member of our engineering team, you will design and develop scalable, efficient, and secure services that power mission-critical applications. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure our systems are reliable, secure, and designed to grow with us.

Responsibilities

  • Backend Development: Design and develop scalable, efficient, and secure services to power mission-critical applications.
  • Serverless Applications: Develop and maintain applications using AWS Lambda and the Serverless Framework.
  • Database Management: Design and manage databases (SQL/NoSQL within AWS) that scale with the company's growth, enhancing efficiency and data integrity.
  • Code Collaboration: Manage repositories using GitHub, and collaborate with other team members to bring tangible innovation to healthcare.
  • API Integration: Work on integrating external APIs, ensuring seamless communication between services.
  • Testing: Develop and maintain robust unit and integration tests using PyTest.
  • Code Quality: Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following industry best practices.
  • System Reliability: Implement logging, monitoring, and alerting solutions using Sentry and AWS CloudWatch.

Requirements

  • Experience: 5+ years of backend development in a cloud environment (preferably Python).
  • Problem-Solving Mindset: Ability to take on complex challenges and build innovative solutions with minimal guidance.
  • Programming Skills: Strong proficiency in Python; experience with C# and/or Node.js is a plus.
  • Cloud Expertise: Proficient in AWS services like Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, and CloudFormation, RDS, and IAM.
  • Version Control: Proficient with GitHub workflows.
  • Testing Frameworks: Experience with unit and integration testing using PyTest or similar.
  • Serverless Framework: Highly desirable experience.
  • Database Knowledge: Familiarity with both relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (DynamoDB).
