Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Nursing Assistant to join our team at WellSpan Health's Emergency Department. As a Nursing Assistant, you will provide clinical support services to patient care staff, ensuring the highest level of care for our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide general nursing care and personal care assistance to patients, including activities of daily living and removal of peripheral IVs and indwelling urinary catheters.
  • Monitor patient condition levels, recognizing and reporting changes in patient condition to the registered nurse.
  • Perform Point-of-Care testing, including blood glucose, hemocult, and specific gravity testing, and maintain related records.
  • Prepare patients for tests, procedures, and transport patients to different levels of care.
  • Collect specimens as directed using appropriate equipment.
  • Perform EKGs and transmit studies.
  • Maintain par levels of supplies and equipment on assigned units, notifying supervisor when reorder points are reached.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Less than 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Basic Life Support certification required upon hire.
  • Certified Nurse Aide certification preferred.
