Residential Care Manager

Dungarvin assists individuals with intellectual disabilities, developmental disabilities, physical disabilities, autism and/or mental health diagnosis in various programs. Our focus is on person-centered practices, empowering people to explore their dreams while our employees provide support and active treatment.
The Residential Program Coordinator plays a crucial role in coordinating services such as individual finances, activities, program services, family involvement, education/vocational programs, health care/nutrition, and household management. This position requires excellent decision-making, communication, and time management skills. We look for reliable and responsible candidates who can carry out job functions without direct supervision.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to empower people with disabilities to live life to the fullest by providing hands-on assistance, encouragement, mentoring, and guidance. You will ensure the comfort, safety, and personal growth of the individuals we serve, assist with daily living tasks, perform light housekeeping duties, and build relationships with persons served and teammates. Your work will include attending community occasions and fun activities like outdoor walks, games, and social events. You will also work on tailored outcomes for individuals and utilize behavioral guidance plans as needed. Additionally, you will transport persons served to appointments or other activities outside the home and document progress, milestones, and action steps.
To be successful in this role, you must meet certain qualifications: at least 18 years old for residential adult programs, 21 years old for child foster care homes; a minimum of two years working with individuals with disabilities and/or one year of lead staff experience or a two-year degree in a related field; prior experience in Residential Services preferred; good decision-making, communication, and time management skills; responsibility, reliability, and ability to carry out job functions without direct supervision; experience working with Mental Health/Illness preferred; valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record; current auto liability insurance; computer skills for documentation; and ability to perform personal cares. The definition of an unlimited driver is defined as one that requires an employee to drive a motor vehicle as part of her/his Dungarvin work, including vehicles owned or leased by Dungarvin, and/or to drive a vehicle in which a person served is transported.
