We are seeking a highly skilled Automation Engineer to join our team at Constellium Muscle Shoals. As an Automation Engineer, you will play a critical role in improving, streamlining, and automating our manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities- Process Optimization: Identify opportunities for automation and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and productivity.
- Project Management: Manage project teams to design, simulate, install, test, and maintain electrical and mechanical automation systems.
- Design and Development: Design new automation equipment and processes, and develop documentation for new equipment and processes.
- Programming and Testing: Program new automated components and test them to ensure they function as desired.
- Documentation and Training: Develop and maintain clear and accurate documentation of automation equipment and processes, and provide training to employees as needed.
- Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot automated processes and equipment when errors occur.
- Education: Engineering degree or technical degree/experience preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 5-10 years' experience in a plant technical role, preferably in the rolling industry.
- Skills: Ability to work with a broad cross-section of people, knowledge of PLC code, and experience with troubleshooting advanced electrical equipment.
- Travel: Willingness to travel for advanced training and Factory Acceptance Tests of new equipment.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain complex ideas to stakeholders of all levels.
Constellium Muscle Shoals is an aluminum manufacturing plant based in Alabama with over 1,200 employees. We are a world-class can recycling center, with the capacity to recycle nearly 20 billion cans per year. Our main product is aluminum can sheet for the packaging industry, particularly for beverage containers.
