We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse II to join our Medical Services unit at the Travis County Juvenile Probation Department. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health and well-being of our juvenile clients.
Responsibilities- Conduct thorough intake and physical assessments of patients, identifying immediate medical attention and psychological needs.
- Perform drug screens and order medications as prescribed.
- Respond to and assess patient emergent medical needs, providing treatment according to protocol and direction from authorized medical staff.
- Work in Dental and STD clinics, providing direct health care to patients.
- Consult with clinical and administrative staff on patient health care issues.
- Document patient conditions and maintain medical files and records.
- Perform other administrative duties as assigned.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Graduation from an accredited Registered Nursing program.
- One year of Registered Nursing experience.
- Certification as a Juvenile Detention Officer or eligibility for certification within six months of hire.
- A valid Texas Driver's License.
