Key Responsibilities

Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited four-year college.
  • Minimum years of post-registration experience in structural engineering, with a strong track record of leadership and technical expertise.
  • Licensed as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Texas or Florida, with the ability to become registered in other states where WGI operates.
  • Advanced knowledge of International Building Code (IBC) and corresponding design codes, as well as materials specific to our project types (concrete, steel, masonry, wood, and post-tensioning).
  • Excellent written, oral, and drawing communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information to clients and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in engineering design software (e.g., ADAPT, Tekla Structural Designer, SAP2000, RAM Structural Systems, RISA 3D, etc.) and BIM modeling software (Revit) or other drafting software (AutoCAD).
  • Effective use of basic Microsoft Office suite (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.).
  • Ability to travel to other WGI office locations and jobsites, as required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Licensed as a Structural Engineer (SE) in the State of Illinois, California, Oregon, Nevada, or Arizona, or have the ability to obtain within 6 months of employment.
  • Mastery of post-tensioned concrete analysis and design, cold-formed steel framing analysis and design, and high-rise structural design.
  • LEED accredited design professional, with proficiency in parametric design tools and/or computer programming skills (e.g., Rhino, Grasshopper, etc.).
