Responsibilities

Position Summary:

Responsible for overseeing the daily functions of the Environmental Services department, ensuring that optimal scheduling and staffing outcomes are achieved based on patient census, acuity, and budgetary considerations. The incumbent will also maintain financial oversight of operations. Additionally, this role involves training, evaluating, and supervising staff in accordance with departmental and organizational policies and procedures.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Recruit, train, and assess staff performance; establish and manage departmental staffing and schedules to ensure an adequate number of qualified personnel are available while maintaining cost-effective staffing patterns; ensure that staff uphold high cleanliness standards and adhere to departmental guidelines.
  • Oversee bed discharge cleaning requirements, ensuring timely and high-quality cleaning of discharge beds; monitor daily equipment usage, cleaning, and maintenance to guarantee all equipment is in optimal working condition.
  • Manage the department's quality improvement initiatives and supervise the quality of services provided, ensuring that all units are prepared for inspections at all times.
  • Oversee departmental inventory and resource allocation, ensuring compliance with organizational guidelines.
Qualifications

Education and Experience:
  • Associate's Degree or a combination of relevant education and/or additional job-related experience.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in environmental services.
