Role Summary
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) plays a vital role in delivering personalized care to residents in long-term care settings. Under the guidance of a registered nurse (RN), the CNA provides essential nursing care and assistance with daily living activities tailored to each resident's needs.

Demonstrates understanding and delivers care that is appropriate for the age and psychological state of the residents, following established care plans.

As an integral member of the nursing team, the CNA is responsible for adhering to infection control protocols and utilizing Personal Protective Equipment as required.

Responsibilities include assisting residents with fundamental health care needs such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and recording vital signs, while also offering emotional support and personal care.

Facilitates resident mobility through safe transfer techniques and equipment, and provides exercises to enhance physical well-being.

In addition, the CNA assists with meal preparation and dining experiences, ensuring a pleasant atmosphere during meals.

The CNA collaborates with nursing staff during procedures, documents resident interactions, and communicates any changes in residents' conditions to the charge nurse. Responsibilities also include collecting non-invasive specimens and vital signs, maintaining cleanliness in living areas, and supporting wellness and recreational activities.

Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not mandatory.

Minimum age requirement of 16. Previous experience in long-term care settings is advantageous.

Must possess a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification from the State Board of Nursing or be in the process of obtaining certification within four months of employment.

Training and certification will be provided by the facility.

Completion of annual competency assessments and continuing education credits is required, with a minimum of 12 hours of education annually. All necessary certifications must be maintained.

For applicable states, registration with the Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry may be required.

Depending on specific duties, this position may require a valid driver's license and adherence to driving policies.
